Report of non-urgent appointments

Dear clients,

We sincerely hope that you are doing well.

The Lapointe Group management team is meeting on a daily basis to monitor the evolution of the situation and ensuring that we are putting all the necessary measures in place in order to preserve the safety of customers, professionals, employees and their family.

The Quebec government has declared a health emergency, and all health professionals must contribute. Dental professionals, including dentists and their teams, are no exception and must participate in this effort to stem the current pandemic.

In the wake of the recommendations made by the Government of Quebec over the past few days, on March 15, 2020 the Ordre des Dentistes du Québec (ODQ) and the Ordre des hygiénistes dentaires du Québec (OHDQ) issued new directives for professionals working in dental offices.

As of Monday March 16, and for a period of at least 14 days, all non-emergency appointments must be postponed to a later date. We will contact affected clients because we are currently receiving an important volume of calls.

For patients who require urgent treatment resulting from infection, acute pain or trauma, and who require immediate treatment, an emergency service will be available in your area.

If you believe you need an appointment urgently, we invite you to dial the following number 1 800 Lapointe so that a dentist can assess the level of emergency and, if necessary, establish the best location as well that the best way to provide care safely.

The dental professionals and their team rigorously apply all the hygiene measures required in connection with the guidelines for infection prevention and control in the dental field and follow all recommendations issued by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Professional Orders in relation to COVID-19.
The recommendations made by the Quebec government regarding quarantine are also being applied throughout the organization. Your cooperation is required to help us in our efforts. For any emergency appointment, you will have to answer the following questions:

  • Have you traveled or been in direct contact (less than two metres) with someone who has traveled outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
  • Do you suffer from a new cough, a recent worsening of an existing cough AND / OR fever or have you been in direct contact (less than two metres) with a person presenting these symptoms?
  • Do you experience trouble breathing and fever and any of the following symptoms, or have you been in direct contact (less than two meters) with a person with these symptoms:
    • sore throat;
    • muscle or joint pain.

If you answer affirmatively to any of those three questions, you must call 1 877 644-4545, the line put in place by the Government of Quebec. The dentist can then direct you to one of the designated places to treat patients having or suspected of having COVID-19 who require urgent dental care.

We thank you for your collaboration and recommend that you consult our website, on which we will share any updates related to the COVID-19 situation.
