The role of InvisalignTM dental aligners
InvisalignTM aligners play the same role as conventional braces. They replace overlapping teeth, close spaces between the teeth called diastemas, realign teeth, etc.
Follow-up visits are generally the same as for treatment with braces. Depending on what your dentist or orthodontist has decided, each dental aligner works to adjust your teeth by putting the desired pressure on your teeth.
Finally, since InvisalignTM dental aligners are removable, you have fewer dietary restrictions than with conventional braces and oral hygiene remains easy to achieve.
Invisible dental aligners
Dental aligners used to perform an orthodontic treatment.
The well-known brand InvisalignTM
InvisalignTM aligners are modern, nearly invisible methods of correcting mild to moderate orthodontic problems. They align teeth (as dental braces would), but in a transparent, removable way. They consist of a series of clear aligners that you change every 7 to 14 days on average, or as prescribed by your dentist or orthodontist. This system does not have metal brackets or wires, which can sometimes irritate the gums and mouth.
Each dental aligner is custom-made to allow the teeth to move into the final position prescribed by your dentist or your orthodontist.
In general, treatment with InvisalignTM dental aligners is faster than treatment with braces. Since the patient is responsible for his or her treatment, discipline is required to avoid compromising or prolonging the orthodontic treatment.
