Palatine expansion is a technique used with the aim of increasing the width of the palate and improving the relationship between the two jawbones. This technique allows the available space to be recovered to allow for a better alignment of the teeth.
It is possible to perform a palatine expansion at any time. Nevertheless, it is much more effective at a younger age (between ages 5 and 8). The equipment produced from impressions of the mouth is fitted with a mechanism allowing gradual and safe expansion.
