An important message from your dentist about

CANADIAN DENTAL CARE PLAN (CDCP)

One price, whether or not you’re covered by the Plan.

Fondation

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) set up by the Government of Canada began in May 2024 and continues to be rolled out progressively. Eventually, more than 2.5 million Quebecers will be eligible. Perhaps you’ll be one of them?

As dentists, we’re delighted that more people will have access to oral health care with this unprecedented financial assistance program.

No matter who we treat, we are committed to offering everyone the same quality of care and professionalism, at the same price.

If you are a beneficiary of this new plan, make sure you have your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) card and photo ID (health insurance card, driver’s license, etc.) with you when you come for your appointment.

Although you can now benefit from financial assistance through this program, you will have to pay the difference between the amount covered by the CDCP and the fee for the care provided by the professional at the clinic.

Are You Eligible?

Starting in May 2025, the program will be available to all eligible individuals. The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is intended for people who do not have dental insurance coverage through an employer or a provincial program.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Not have access to any dental insurance coverage.

  • Have filed your 2024 income tax return (and your spouse’s, if applicable).

  • Have a family net adjusted income of less than $90,000.

  • Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes.

Required Documents for Your Appointment

If you are a beneficiary of the CDCP, you must bring the following with you:

  • Your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) card.

  • A valid photo ID (e.g., health insurance card, driver’s license, etc.).

Please note: While this program provides financial support, you will be responsible for paying the difference between the amount covered by the CDCP and the fee charged by the dental professional at the clinic.

Program Rollout

Applications will be accepted according to the following schedule:

  • May 1, 2025: Individuals aged 55 to 64

  • May 15, 2025: Individuals aged 18 to 34

  • May 29, 2025: Individuals aged 35 to 54

Annual Coverage Renewal

CDCP coverage must be renewed every year. Current members must submit their renewal application before June 1, 2025, to avoid any interruption in coverage. Dental care received during a lapse in coverage will not be reimbursed.

To renew your coverage, you will need:

  • Your Social Insurance Number

  • Your contact information

  • Your marital status (if applicable)

  • Details of any other government dental coverage

  • Your 2024 income tax return and notice of assessment

These steps are required to maintain your eligibility and ensure continuous service without delays.
