There are several models of mouth guards available. In stores, you will find one-size or boil-and-bite mouth guards. While these mouth guards are affordable ($10-$45), they tend to slip out of place, and interfere with talking and breathing.

However, a custom mouth guard won’t last forever; it should be replaced every two to three years, or if it tears, wears out or thins out prematurely.
