Here is an important update.
As of yesterday, the Cabinet has extended the state of health emergency by 10 days. As a result, the Ordre des dentistes du Québec, together with public health authorities, have now pushed back the date for rescheduling non-urgent appointments to May 1. We recommend that you consult our communications and website as the situation is evolving rapidly and that, as such, this date may be subject to change as directed by the authorities.
All customers whose appointment had to be postponed will be contacted to reschedule as soon as activities can resume. Due to the high volume of calls that we receive, we must reiterate that it is not necessary to communicate with us.
Only the following situations are considered dental emergencies:
- Dental trauma
- Acute uncontrolled pain
- Significant or prolonged bleeding
- Medically required dental treatment as a pre-intervention to surgery needed promptly
Prior to any emergency appointment, each patient must answer a shot questionnaire specifically drawn up by health authorities. The purpose of this questionnaire is to reduce the risk of transmission for everyone and to determine the best resource for treating the patient based on his or her respective situation. For example, emergency appointments for patients aged 70 and over will be scheduled at a time when they will be less at risk of being exposed to other patients. In addition, we wish to remind you that, if possible, you should present yourself to your emergency appointment alone, as much as possible.
These drastic measures are put in place to limit movement and support the containment efforts required by governments in order to flatten the spreading curve of the virus and allow health professionals to support as many people as possible, with all the required resources in time of need.
We are extremely grateful to all employees and professionals of the Lapointe Group as well as our suppliers, who work tirelessly to continue to offer you quality care when required and keep you safe and healthy in these extreme conditions. We are committed to continuing to obtain and share with you relevant and up-to-date information from public health authorities.
We thank you for your understanding and wish to remind you to take care of yourself and your loved ones.
