At-home tooth whitening
Who doesn’t want a radiant smile? A bright smile looks great and projects self-confidence. But certain substances or foods like tobacco, red wine, blackberries or coffee can stain the teeth, causing them to lose their lustre. Teeth also tend to darken with age.
While natural tooth colour varies from pale grey to dark yellow, there’s a treatment that can considerably brighten your smile: tooth whitening!
Also known as dental bleaching, whitening can only be performed on the enamel of natural and healthy teeth. Whitening has no effect on veneers, composite fillings, crowns or bridges.
Whitening is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Smoking is not advisable during the bleaching process, since the peroxide contained in the whitening agent increases the risk of cancer posed by tobacco use.
Some patients may experience temporary tooth sensitivity. These effects disappear a few days after the treatment.
Your Lapointe Dental Centre professional can also brighten your smile with an exclusive private label product: ULTRA WoW WHITENING.
With proper care and regular follow-up, your ULTRA WoW smile will last for years.
This treatment will give you back your radiant smile. It’s available in two forms:
This treatment takes place at your Lapointe Dental Centre. Quick and easy, ULTRA WoW whitening is completed in a session lasting a little over an hour.
The ULTRA WoW whitening product is applied on the teeth, then activated with light.
A few subsequent applications of the whitening product at home will maximize the effect of the treatment.
ULTRA WoW whitening can also be done at home. Treatment involves wearing trays previously filled with bleaching gel. This can be done during the day or at night, depending on your schedule. Your professional can help you choose the option that suits you best.
Day treatment consists of two 30-minute applications, morning and evening.
Night treatment consists of one application 90 minutes before bedtime.
Either way, the results are dazzling.
Your smile may need an occasional touch-up. The professionals at your Lapointe Dental Centre will touch up your smile as needed to keep it at its best and brightest.
